Proudly graduated from GW Academic Leadership Academy (GWALA)!

Reflections from GWALA Cohort 5 Fellows 2024-2025

Applied Science

Never thought I’d be celebrating another graduation at this stage of my career. But here we go:

This year-long program is designed to build leadership capacity (e.g., decision making, emotional intelligence, and conflict management) and facilitate cross-institutional networking. Thank you, Sara and VP Rumana, for putting together such a great program. I have not had a stricter instructor than Sara for a while — Whenever I’m late for homework or miss my reading assignment, she always has a way to catch me slacking :) Congrats to all my “classmates" who made it together this year!

Highlight of the program for me were those invited talks — Thank you, Dean Perry, Dean Henry, Dean Goldman, Dean Lach, and Provost Bracey, for sharing your first-hand experience as our academic leaders!

Really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the program to our colleagues. Sharing a quote from this year — “Leadership is a skill that can be learned”.
