AA recent national survey by The Chronicle of administrators, faculty, and staff members paints a mixed picture of what it’s like to work in higher education. Two-thirds of respondents say they work either “significantly more” or “somewhat more” than they did five years ago. Thirty-two percent say their workplace environment is either “toxic” or “often dysfunctional.” On the other hand, 54 percent report being equally or more satisfied with their jobs than they were five years ago.
