Office of the Provost Leadership Academy for GW Academic Leaders

academic leader academy

The GW Academic Leadership Academy was designed to facilitate cross-institutional networking among academic leaders while building leadership capacity for the participating schools and units. As a year-long, cohort-based program, participants will benefit from a CV-worthy experience that considers their well-being and helps them develop leadership skills while applying what they learn on a project of their choice.

The program runs from June to April. The cohort of fellows selected to participate in the program will build core interpersonal, analytical, and management skills. Eligibility requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in a university setting, a strong faculty background, and an interest in serving in an academic leadership position at GW. Once selected, fellows in the cohort will need to commit to:

  • Full participation in seven seminars throughout the year

  • Leading a project that will serve as a case study to apply their learning

  • Investing time (approximately 1-2 hours a week) to complete required assignments

The nomination process for the current cohort is now closed. Once we are certain of the plans for launching the second cohort, we will promote the news here.

Please send an email to the GW Faculty Affairs Office with any questions.
